MOHAMMED RAFI ACADEMY
Mohammed Rafi Academy is an organization dedicated to furthering the legacy of legendary singer Rafi Sahab.
Founded by Shahid Rafi who as the Chairman will steer the academy with the help of Raju Naushad, Andalib Sultanpuri, Javed Badayuni & Rohan Kapoor, in their own right worthy successors of legends in the field of film music and literature. The Committee also consists of Firdaus S. Rafi, Kaka JP, Manek Premchand, H.A.Makhijani, Shirish Kulkarni, Raashid Zaffar & Qamaal Mustafa Sikander, professionals from various fields. The Academy was launched on 31st July, 2010 at Novotel Hotel, Mumbai on the 30th Death Anniversary of Rafi Sahab.
It was an emotional moment for the children of Rafi Sahab as almost the entire film industry came down to pay glowing their respect to the legendary singers. The event was widely covered in print, electronic and web media all over the world. A few of the hon’ble stalwarts included Shammi Kapoor, Ravi, Pyarelal, Chandra-shekhar, Jagdeep, Naqsh Lyallpuri, Dara Singh, Ameen Sayani, Sanjay Khan, Hasan Kamaal, Anandji, Rishi Kapoor, Ravindra Jain, Bappi Lahiri, Jeetendra, Rakesh Roshan, Jackie Shroff, Nitin Mukesh, Shabbir Kumar, Amit Kumar, Javed Jaffri, Udit Narayan, Adnan Sami Khan, Dr.Ashok Chopra among others.
